“Celebrating Unity through Diversity through Film”

Norwalk Film Festival was founded by a grassroots group of filmmakers, community cultural leaders, and movie lovers living and working in Norwalk. The theme, “Unity through Diversity through Film,” was chosen to celebrate and acknowledge the many walks of life, ethnicities, and backgrounds of Norwalk residents by providing a window into their lives and the issues they face. The goal of the volunteer-based NFF committee is to bring local communities together and stimulate conversations generated by the films. The mission will be illuminated and magnified through the Festival’s films and filmmakers, attendees, and the recipient of our “Standing Ovation Award.”

In the City of Norwalk’s endorsement announcement, Mayor Harry Rilling, said, “The Norwalk Film Festival, with its recognition of our city as a unique, multicultural community, is a welcome addition to our vibrant arts scene.”

The NFF also has the support of The Connecticut Office of Film, Television & Digital Media. George Norfleet, the Director, says, “We are enthusiastic about the Norwalk Film Festival’s inaugural year launch and very much look forward to tracking its success and progress in the years to come.”
